5 Easy Ways To Make Pasta

Growing up one of the moments I looked forward to is eating pasta with my siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and all in between. This vibe came with eating pasta literarily and it’s a vibe id love to pass on as a family tradition. Here are five easy-to-make pasta recipes I came across recently and their actual names, ENJOY!

1. FIERY PASTA (ARRABIATA)

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 21 oz / 600g crushed tinned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley(or basil; efirin)

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic, stir until fragrant, then add the tinned tomatoes and chili flakes.
  3. Simmer on medium for 5 minutes.
  4. Toss with pasta and cooking water per Base Directions. Toss through parsley and serve with parmesan

2. AMATRICE SPAGHETTI (SPAGHETTI ALL’AMATRICIANA)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic clove
  • 1/2 brown onion
  • 14 oz/400g crushed tinned tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 6 oz/ 180g thinly sliced guanciale (or Meat)

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat. 
  2. Add the garlic, onion, and guanciale/beef (or bacon or hotdogs) and cook until the onion has softened and the guanciale is golden.
  3. Add the tinned tomatoes and chili flakes and bring to a rapid simmer. Toss with pasta and cooking water per Base Directions. 
  4. Serve with parmesan.

3. FRESH TOMATO & BASIL SAUCE (POMAROLA):

  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 24 oz/800g fresh cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil 

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat. 
  2. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, add tomato and cook briefly, just to warm through. 
  3. Toss with pasta and cooking water per Base Directions. 
  4. Toss through basil, serve with parmesan.

4. TOMATO SPAGHETTI (SPAGHETTI NAPOLITANA):

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 brown onion
  • 28 oz / 800g crushed tinned tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil(efirin)

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat. 
  2. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, then add the onion and cook until softened. 
  3. Add tinned tomatoes and 1/2 cup water, simmer for 5 minutes. 
  4. Toss with pasta and cooking water per Base Directions. Toss through basil and serve with parmesan.

5. PASTA WITH TUNA (SPAGHETTI AL TONNO):

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves 
  • 1/2 brown onion 
  • 14 oz/400g crushed tinned tomatoes
  • 5 oz/150g tinned tuna
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

PROCEDURE

Seafood pasta is typically not served with parmesan but you can if you want!

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add the onion and cook until softened, then add the tinned tomatoes and 1/2 cup water.
  4. Simmer for 3 minutes, then add the tuna.
  5. Toss with pasta and cooking water per Base Directions.
  6. Toss through parsley.
